Okay I made a gofundme to help pay for hotel stays and the last of my top surgery fees. I’ve never done this before so I’m extremely uncomfortable and feeling Very Bad about it, but here’s the link. There is going to be absolutely no guilt-tripping here so don’t feel in any way obligated to give me money lol. Oh ew I also just realized this has my full name on it. Big yikes there

Oh okay so it’s good then

Even going outside the context of the barbie movie, it is truly incredible that they could write that last part and try to frame it as a bad thing

it really is so hard to parody this because this article is actually framing “Living your life and being comfortable with how you present yourself” as a negative political agenda

Three points from this article I really want people to take away from it:

1.

“There often comes a pivotal point during radicalization when a person first faces the consequences of their extremism when they have to decide whether to make amends and reintegrate themselves into their communities or to double down, retreating further and further into a self-reinforcing universe of alternate facts and realities.”

2.

“The “concerned parent” trope in news articles has emerged as one of the most pernicious forms of American anti-trans propaganda, according to Dr. Julia Serano, the famed trans writer and biologist.

“These pieces strike trans-unaware audiences as ‘fair and balanced’ because they seem to show ‘all sides’ of the story,” Serano wrote recently in a piece about how even mainstream publications like The New York Times and The Atlantic have frequently elevated the voices of non-affirming parents while obscuring those parents’ ties to extremist anti-trans organizations.

“These articles make it seem as though these parents simply want what’s best for their child,” Serrano wrote, “when in actuality these parents are heavily invested in disaffirming and suppressing their child’s trans identity.”

3.

“If there’s adults in your life or if there’s people in your life or friends or whoever the fuck that you love, that you’re worried about losing over this, and if you’re like… ‘if I come out this person might abandon me,’ that’s their decision that they’re making,” Renton says. “That is 100% not on you. It doesn’t mean you’re fucking bad. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. It doesn’t mean there’s something broken with you. That is someone else being fucked up.”

“Ultimately, community will find you, and you will find community, whether it feels impossible or not,” he says.

“We’re not going anywhere.”

“Species Dysphoria” (2021)

I’ve been waiting to post this one for a little while now! This comic was made for the Inky Paws Zine, a collaborative fiction zine created by nonhumans and alterhumans!

In hindsight, I should’ve probably leaned a little bit more into making this a fictional piece to better fit the zine’s theme…nevertheless, I’m still happy with it! This was something I created to try and articulate some of my personal feelings about my species dysphoria through the lens of someone who’s also trans, and maybe feels that those two identities are really the same.

so SAG-AFTRA finally released some official guidance for fans, viewers, creators/influencers, critics, and more during the strike. here’s what you need to know:

  1. if you see a publication/news source/journalist talking about a piece of struck work, that’s ok. they’re allowed to do that.
image

2. they’re asking regular viewers and fans to DONATE TO STRIKE FUNDS, SHOW UP TO PICKETS IF YOU CAN, and please do NOT boycott streaming services or movies in theaters.

image

3. influencers, content creators, cosplayers, and anything in between is still a bit of a grey area, but they’re asking people to use their best judgement. “organically” means UNPAID promo (like an invite to a premiere without being paid, being sent a publicity box, letting the company’s social media post a photo of you in cosplay, etc).

obviously this doesn’t answer every question, and isn’t hard and fast rules for fanworks, but it can at least inform how you personally choose to move forward when posting online and moving publically. i hope this helps!

Strange that it never occured to me. There are times I’ve been so upset that I’ve stamped around while cussing, that I’ve lain flat on the floor and groaned for as long as I had breath, that I’ve ranted my frustration aloud in an unhinged monologue, that I’ve swung my limbs about in a fury. All until I’d vented enough to just … resume my normal life.

And if I’d had not the privacy of my home, I’d either have had to bottle that all up … or open it all up where the public could scrutinize my every move. It really is a privilege to not be constantly on display like that.

They never were going to just stop with trans people. Italy has begun stripping lesbian parents of their parental rights. They always intended to go after all LGBTQ people. Walsh and others have started sharing outrage posts on gay adoption and surrogacy. pic.twitter.com/UbxsOXD6GZ — Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) July 18, 2023ALT

in italy, lesbian parents are being removed from their child’s birth certificate in favor of the ‘biological parent’, regardless if that person ever had a role in raising the child. welsh has been doing this as well. it feels like we’re going back decades.

the thing about anti-kink people ive found is that they would rather cut off their tongues than discuss subs who get off on being slapped around and degraded. literally they are incapable of discussing kink without making the entire thing about evil doms hurting their subs so they can get off. idk maybe it’s related to how they can’t make an argument that doesn’t deprive subs/women of autonomy over their own desires & the ability to knowingly consent to kink. because that is their one fucking argument

image

^ example of “their only argument is that women shouldn’t have autonomy over their sex lives and can’t consent”

The Enlightened Radfems have deemed all kinky sex you have as abuse. And since they have decided that this is a fact of your reality, you are incapable of consenting. You may think you can consent, but you can’t- you’re too stupid indoctrinated by the patriarchy to actually think for yourself. You can’t actually know what is hurting you, you need someone else to decide what is right for your body and mind for you. The Enlightened Radfems just want to help you, so you need to ignore everything you think and feel and trust that they know best, they know better than you because they are Educated In Feminism. You need to learn to distrust everything you think and feel, and seek out the advice of Enlightened Radfems to tell you which thoughts are Wrong and which thoughts are Right.

Dislike this? Think its patronizing and eerily similar to how the patriarchy acts towards you? Well, you would think that, because you haven’t been Enlightened. Its in your own best interest for them to ignore all those silly little thoughts about what you “want,” since if you only listened to them you’d realize you don’t actually want the things you want! What do you mean this sounds abusive and extremely controlling! We’re Feminist Females so we’re automatically better and safer!!!!!
